Gallery: 2011 pictures - The Rebuild

From October 2011, a few weeks after the fire, a huge clean up operation took place in the severely damaged Nurse's

Changing Rooms and also at the Bridge FM studios.

Following the clean up, the priority was given to rebuild the Changing Rooms, then on to the Studio complex.  Much work

had to take place, including new wiring, fire alarm systems, new roofing and tiles, then the carpets and decorating.

By the beginning of August, our Engineering team were allowed access to the studios to begin the equipment installation.

Firstly, we put out a contract tender for the joinery work that was needed in rebuilding the studio desks and library shelving.

Steve Garrigan Joinery won the contract to supply and build what was needed and worked very hard to complete the work

within 3 days.  This gave our Engineering Team and Library Team a chance to get in and start the installations of the studio

equipment and music library.

Our studio and library equipment was driven in from storage in Reading and Kilmarnock the next day, so the timing was

perfect.

Over the following weeks our team spent many hours of hard work getting the Music Library in order and building Studio 1.

By the start of September, the studio was almost complete (apart from the computer systems) and were ready for our

Presenters to begin refresher training prior to going back live on air.

One year on, we are very very close to resuming full live programming once again.

Below, are some pictures of our progress so far...

The assembly of the library shelving.

To save time and make best use of space, the shelving and studio desks were cut off-site and assembled in the studio complex.

1 week later, and we have music! (and telly!)

We have decided now to use minimal vinyl and concentrate on CD's and MP3 music.

The pod holds 2 Denon dual CD/MP3 players, CD rack for jingles, promos & infomercials, a dual CD recorder, Codec, and space for 2 SD Card players / recorders.

The Broadcast Rack, it keeps the place running by controlling the studios and sends the feed up from our studios on level 5 to our Transmitter Room on level 13.  (Now that's a lot of stairs!)

The middle light means that Studio 3 is on air just now - Studio 3 is our Playout system.
