Ward Visitor

The role of the Ward Visitor is essential to the effective running of BRIDGEfm. 

The Ward Visitors are effectively the “front line” of the service and are responsible for ensuring the correct portrayal of the station image amongst our listeners and helping to promote the station to both staff and patients.

They will also ensure that the patients get the best possible service from BRIDGEfm.

Audio Production

This role includes making promotional material and on air "infomercials", as well as in house jingles.

Knowledge of Adobe Audition editing software would be handy although training will be given.

You’ll also have to write scripts from information given and make them into easy to read pieces for Presenters and audio for playing on air.

Fundraising & Events

This role is one of the most important in the organisation. We purely rely on fundraising to keep running  - to buy and maintain studio equipment, purchasing music and CD's, general bills, and even bin liners! 

You can help by organising events, raffles, can collections, etc, in fact anything that you can think of. No idea is a bad idea.

Programme Production Assistant

The Production Assistant (PA) is responsible for assisting the work of a programme presenter and the overall smooth running of the station. 

Time spent as a PA can be an excellent grounding, giving skills and experience which can be essential in other roles within the organisation

Sport's Presenter & Commentator

We broadcast live commentary from Dundee United FC and Dundee FC home games as well as from Dundee Stars games at the Dundee Ice Arena.

Our commentators work in pairs, each taking turn to be main commentator or pundit. You’ll have the option to train to become a commentator after you have been trained as a Sports Presenter as you’ll also have to present our sports programmes from time to time.

Presenter

The role of the Presenter within BRIDGEfm is to ensure the station’s output is of the highest possible quality to bring the utmost satisfaction and enjoyment to the patients within our receiving hospitals. 

The Presenter is responsible for ensuring that the output of the station accurately reflects the tastes, choice and needs of the listeners and allow BRIDGEfm to achieve its overall goals and help to improve each patient’s stay in hospital.
